SIGNALS Workshop

SIGNALS, the Star Formation, Ionized Gas, and Nebular Abundances Legacy Survey with the imaging Fourier transform SITELLE, has been allocated 355 hours (54.7 nights) of guaranteed time at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope. It will provide datacubes for a volume-limited sample (at D ≤ 10 Mpc) of about 40 extended star-forming galaxies, allowing us to create the most complete database of spectroscopically and spatially resolved extragalactic HII regions. More than 50000 HII regions will be sampled with a mean spatial resolution of 20 pc offering a statistically reliable laboratory to study small-scale nebular physics and phenomena linked to massive star formation in galaxies.

The main objectives of the workshop are :
* to bring the team members together for helpful discussions and to outline the science objectives;
* to give a detailed overview of the data products from SITELLE;
* to provide tutorials on how to use ORCS (the line fitting code for SITELLE) and other useful analysis tools;
* to define a uniform and standard data reduction pipeline based on the needs for the different science projects.

This workshop will be held in Québec City at Université Laval on May 27 to 30, 2019. It is exclusively designed for the members of the SIGNALS collaboration and their students. Please follow the link at the top for registration.
